Xylo Eggs

In Star Trek's TNG episode '11001001' Commander Data paints Xylo Eggs. What do you think of them? Is Data exhibiting signs of pure creativity? Its hard to tell what Commander Riker makes of the android's painting but I think Captain Picard would have approved. The french like paintings flushed with vibrant bright colors. Painting is another way to keep a diary. Its hard to figure why Commander Riker departs so suddenly, starship duties I guess!

RIKER:
Keep notes this project could be of importance to scholars in the future.

GEORDI:
Really!

RIKER:
Well of course, think about it. A blind man teaching an android how to paint. Thats got to be worth a couple of pages in somebodies book!

Data's artistic interest in its budding stages! Who can forget "Ode to Spot"? Or for that matter, Riker's real pursuit in this episode, Minuet?

Data was trying!

Minuet was quite a special programme wasn't she? Tony.

Rikers a real card when he gets going! Maurice.

I agree, Alex. Datas 'trying' brings out the interesting 'humane' qualities in the character.
